Stop searching for a methodologist. Start working with one.
Answer six questions about your project to find the right methodologist — no job posts, no cold emails, no guesswork. We match across 50 curated techniques.
Founded by a quantitative psychologistLess time searching. More confidence in who you find.
Skip the search
Methodologists are matched by the techniques your project needs — not by job titles, keywords, or who happens to be in your network.
Know it's the right fit
Every match shows which of your required techniques are covered, so you can judge the fit before you send a single message.
No inbox to triage
A conversation only opens when you're both interested. No pitches, no cold emails, no bidding.
Are you a methodologist? Projects that need your expertise come to you — nothing to bid on, nothing to pitch.
From project to methodologist in four steps.
- 1
Get matched
Publish your project and see methodologists ranked by how well their expertise matches the needs of your project.
- 2
Mutual interest
Say you're interested. When the methodologist also expresses interest, a private conversation opens.
- 3
Complete the work
Agree on project scope and terms directly, then track the project to completion.
- 4
Mutual review
Both sides review the collaboration, so every future match is better informed.
Answer six questions. We'll tell you what your project needs.
No statistical vocabulary needed. Try it now — it takes about a minute.
Are you designing, scoring, or validating a survey, test, or psychological scale?
For example
- Writing a new questionnaire to measure burnout in nurses
- Checking whether an exam's questions are fair to every group of students
Questions, answered.
Do I need to know which statistical methods my project needs?
No. Answer six plain-language questions and we'll suggest the techniques. You can add, remove, or change any of them at any time.
How are matches scored?
Match scoring is based on how much of your project's analytical need overlaps with a methodologist's expertise and preferences. You mark each technique as Required, Preferred, or Nice-to-have. We'll show you the breakdown of how each methodolist matches your project.
How do I know a methodologist is qualified?
Methodologists declare the analyses they know and rate their own proficiency. We don't certify anyone — instead, every match shows which of your requirements the methodologist meets, so you can judge the fit before you talk.
Do you match on my project description?
No. Matching runs on the analyses you require for each project, never on an analysis of your project description.
Who can contact me?
No one, until you've both expressed interest. There are no cold messages, and no contact details on any profile or project. You can message people only after you've both expressed interest.
Do you handle payments or contracts?
On day one, we only handle subscription and seat payments directly to Statistitch. We do not handle payments or contracts between users. Projects owners and methodologist can use Statistitch messaging to agree on scope and terms directly, but it's not required, and we do not facilitate any other payment or contractual relationship. Our purpose is to help you find each other.
How much does it cost?
Joining the waitlist is free. Pricing isn't set yet, and you'll see it before you're ever asked to pay.
I'm a methodologist. Can I join?
Yes. Choose "I am one" when you join, and projects that need your techniques will come to you.
How many methodologists are on the platform?
Not many yet — we're in private beta and the pool is still growing. A marketplace whose matches are wrong doesn't get better by adding messaging and payments, so we built the matching first and are growing both sides deliberately.
When will I get access?
We're opening in batches and balancing both sides of the marketplace. We'll email you when your seat is ready.
Get found for what you actually do.
On a general marketplace your specialization reads as a narrow profile. Here it's the whole basis of the match — so the more precisely you describe your expertise, the faster the right projects find you.
Tag your expertise
Declare the analyses you know. We'll surface projects that require those analyses, with the overlap specified — you can tell in seconds whether it's worth your time.
A fuller profile means better matches
Every technique you add makes you eligible for more projects. Leave one off and the projects that need it may never reach you.
Rate yourself honestly
Proficiency can only ever discount a match, never inflate one — so there's no advantage to overstating it, and everyone here knows that.

50 analyses, weighted to fit your project.
A curated vocabulary, not open tagging — so a technique can be marked as essential rather than merely useful, and two people describing the same method always land on the same one.

Built by a methodologist and an engineer.
We did this by hand for years.
Bob spent years matching methodologists to grant-funded research — using his network and knowledge about which colleagues had run similar analysis and might be interested. It worked. But it didn't scale well, and it never reached anyone outside the network.
Statistitch does the work in the open: simpler on both sides, explaining the analyses, so you learn what your study needs while finding someone to do it.
Why human methodologists still matter.
AI can draft an analysis plan in seconds. Whether it's the right plan for your study is a different question.
Plausible isn't the same as correct
AI can produce an analysis that runs cleanly and reads convincingly but is wrong: the wrong test, a violated assumption, a miscalculated result. A methodologist catches it before a reviewer does.
Someone stands behind the analysis
A methodologist can be named on your grant, sign off on a plan, and later explain why certain analyses were used. An AI can't do any of that.
Sensitive data stays where it belongs
Data covered by an ethics board, a data use agreement, or privacy law often can't be pasted into a chatbot. A methodologist can work under the same agreements as you.
AI is a useful tool, but it won't ask the question you didn't know to ask. Use AI for speed. Bring in a methodologist for judgment.
For teams and institutions
Bring your department, lab, or research group into a shared workspace. You can get seats for the researchers who need them, projects that belong to the institution rather than to one person, and one bill instead of many. Arriving at launch.
